About WellsWorth Cavaliers

I began my love of the cavalier in 1995 when a friend of mine brought over a beautiful tri color male from England .   I spotted him at a dog show at that time and was smitten with the whole spaniel face and big eyes of the breed.  At the time I had cocker spaniels and had been actively showing and breeding cockers for a number of years.  For two years we looked for the right cavalier for us to begin with and while she was not a “pretty” girl she had a wonderful pedigree and was sound in structure, temperament, and health.  “Megan” came to us from the Stonecroft kennel in KY and Stonecroft Lady Wellington launched us into the wonderful breed of the cavalier king charles spaniel.

With Megan as our foundation bitch we began to selectively breed and show our dogs.  With each litter we learned more and more about this lovely breed.  We breed 2-3 litters per year with the intention of keeping a puppy for show if all goes well as they develop.

In recent years we have imported several males from England to help improve our breeding program while we strive to produce the best quality cavaliers possible.  You can see Nigel, Thomas and Alistair on the site and read more about how they came to us from the UK .  I have finished championships on numerous cavaliers over the years and many from the breed by exhibitor class.

We live in Greensboro NC that will be our retirement home where all of our dogs our in our home.  We invite you to browse our site and learn more about what we think is a wonderful companion breed.
